FIA News

As we enter the heart of this Holiday season it is a good time to take a look around at our neighbors, family, and friends and ask; how can I help you today? With the economy at an extreme low and people struggling everywhere, now is the perfect time to start asking that question. Perhaps you have a casserole to give, a ride, a helping hand, even a simple smile. Whatever it is, share it this Holiday season, you never know who may need just what you have to offer.

To do our part to help our neighbors during this season of giving Faith In Action Northern Communities Partnership, Inc. will be collecting donated toys now through December 21st to be distributed to local families in need. Please bring your unwrapped new or gently used donation to the Masonic Hall Mon-Fri, 9am – 2:30pm. December 21st will be our last day for collecting these much-needed donations.

Also, we will be hosting our Book Event on December 6th with the K-3rd graders of Cabot School and presenter Duncan McDougal of the Children’s Literacy Foundation with every child leaving with a new book in hand. These books were granted to us thanks to the efforts of our own Diana Klingler. Any remaining books will be distributed along with the toys collected through December 21st.

FYI – Our final Food Share for this month will be held on December 23rd from 2pm – 4pm, please stop by if you’d like. We can always use more volunteers and are happy to help any and all in need. If you are unable to make it to the Food Share you can always come in for an emergency box Mon – Thurs. from 10am – 2pm. Keep an eye out for our upcoming Computer Literacy classes starting in January – anyone interested in attending should call Faye at (802) 563-3322, we will also be having a Craft Social and Nutrition Classes in the coming year – all free of charge.
